Description |
This property contains a 2.5-story, 3-bay cross-gabled house facing west
to Witherspoon Street. The roof is clad with asphalt shingles and
features a simple raking cornice with shaped rafter tails along the side
walls. A small brick chimney is located near the center of the ridge. The
house's walls are stuccoed. Fenestration is somewhat symmetrically
arranged; windows are replacement 1x1 double hung sash units. The main
(west) elevation features a paired attic window; three second floor
windows; and a semi-enclosed front porch with a hipped roof. The north
part of the porch remains open; an original door opens into the house and
a new door with a transom and sidelights opens into the enclosed porch. A
set of concrete steps leads down to the grade of the front lawn. The side
elevations vary in their appearance. Both have a paired window on the
attic level; on the north end, a fire escape leads down from this paired
window. The south elevation features four windows on the first and second
floor levels. The house has a stuccoed foundation. On the rear of the
house is a 1-story, full-length addition with a shed roof and a single
2x2 window on the north and south elevations. |
