Description |
The church building is a 1-story house of worship reflecting the "raised
chapel" plan. The key feature of the building is its parapet. The building
has a front end gabled orientation, facing south to Birch Avenue. The front
gable is a parapet; the walls are concrete block on a concrete foundation.
windows are all replacement units, arranged in three bays on the main
elevation and four bays on the side walls. A set of concrete steps leads up
to the entrance on the main elevation, located below a small awning. The
building has 1x1 basement windows in the concrete foundation on the south,
east, and west elevations. |

History |
The church building was constructed in 1952. Historic maps indicate that
the property was vacant as late as the historic aerial of 1947. The first
indication of the house is the historic aerial of 1953, which shows the
building (as do all subsequent historic aerials). The congregation was
founded in a neighboring house; it was chartered on the 4th Sunday in June
1941. The congregation constructed the church building in 1952. |
