This house is a two-and-a-half-story, two-bay, Late Victorian building
and its main architectural features are its hipped-roof porch and
interior brick chimney. It features a front-gable roof that is clad with
asphalt shingles and has aluminum clad eaves. There is an interior brick
chimney located in the middle of the eastern slope of the roof. The house
is clad in aluminum siding.All of the house’s windows are replacements
and those on the south (front) elevation are flanked by inoperable
shutters.
The south elevation of the house features a one-story, full-length,
hipped- roof porch and an off-set front door. The porch roof is clad in
asphalt shingles. The porch is accessed by a concrete staircase with a
double iron balustrade. It features three iron posts and an iron
balustrade. The off- set front door is flanked by one, double, one-over-
one, double-hung sash window.
On the second floor, there are two, single, one-over-one, double-hung
sash windows centered more or less over the front door and the double
window on the first floor. There is one, small, single, one-over-one,
double-hung sash window centered in the gable of this elevation.
The house’s foundation is clad in stucco.
At the rear of the property, there is a one-and-a-half-story, two-bay,
front-gable roofed garage clad in stucco. The roof is clad in asphalt
shingles. 85 Birch Avenue’s car port is attached to its east elevation. |
