DESCRIPTION

Setting

Description

The property contains the western half of a 2-story, 4-bay vernacular twin. The two sections of the building have entirely different cladding. The front end gabled building has a small concrete chimney at the south end of the ridge and a block chimney along the west side of the building. In the peak of the front gable is a half-circular attic window shared by the two interior units. The building has frame walls clad with aluminum siding on the main (north) elevation and the second floor of the west elevation; the first floor of the west elevation is clad with wood siding. Windows are replacement 1x1 double hung sash units with lip lintels. The front porch is a hipped roof element with unfluted Tuscan columns connected by a railing; the railing flows down the frame steps centered on the main elevation. On the porch, the replacement front door is located in the east bay; it is a slab door with horizontal lights (a door type produced from 1950 to 1970). The west side of the house features two windows on the first and second floors; the south window on the first floor is a paired unit. The house has a concrete foundation.
