DESCRIPTION

Setting

Description

This property is the location of a 2-story, 2-bay vernacular house that faces south. Its key features are its pyramidal roof, cube massing, and hipped front porch.

The house’s pyramidal roof is clad with asphalt shingles, and the eaves are clad in aluminum siding. The house also is clad in aluminum siding. The house’s windows and doors are replacements. The first floor of the south (front) elevation features a one-story, hipped- roofed, full- length, wood porch and an off-set front door. The porch is accessed by an off-set wooden staircase that leads to the front door and that features a double, iron balustrade. The porch features three wood Doric columns and a wood balustrade. The front door is flanked by one pair of single, six- over-six, double-hung sash windows flanked by one pair of inoperable shutters. On the second floor, there are two, single, one-over-one, double-hung sash windows, one more or less centered over the front door and one centered over the paired windows on the first floor.

The east elevation features an exterior, brick chimney and appears to feature two windows to the north of the chimney on its first floor and one window to the north of the chimney on its second floor.

The west elevation features on its first floor a center door at grade flanked by one, single, six-over-six, double-hung sash window located at the very front of this elevation and two windows to its north. Its second floor features one small sash window centered over the door and one window immediately to its north.

There is a one-story, aluminum clad shed-roofed addition on its north (back) elevation.

The house’s foundation is clad in stucco.
