Description |
This house and 4 others (#58, 60, 62, 64 Leigh) contain a rather unique
porch design; The house has a front end gabled roof with a cross gable
facing east. Walls are clad in vinyl and windows are all 1x1
replacements. The two-story main (north) façade has a paired 2x2 window
on the 2nd level and the same directly beneath on the 1st floor. The
porch has been altered as it no longer runs west of entrance. It has a
nearly flat-roofed porch but with a front gabled extension over the steps
and the main entrance. Porch supported by 3 squared columns with squared
rail and balustrade in between. Masonry steps reach grade. Door is a
1960s replacement Leader door with an upper square light over two square
panels.
East façade has a shed-roofed extension along the first level that may
have been part of a wrap porch. The cross gable is also visible here.
Foundation is stucco clad stone (rare in Witherspoon-Jackson).
At rear of yard is a contributing, frame, front end gabled garage with
hinged wooden door. |
