Description |
This property contains a small, 2-bay, 2-story, frame, vinyl-clad house
with an end gabled, asphalt-shingled roof. Eaves are vinyl-clad. The main
feature is its partially incised porch framed with pent type roof. Main
(north) façade features 2 sets of paired 1x1 sash window units (all
windows are 1x1 sash replacements on house) with inoperable shutters.
First floor openings are recessed. They feature a paired unit near NW
corner (aligned with unit above) with inoperable shutters and
replacement sash entrance door near NE corner. Porch pent roof (asphalt
shingles) returns on both ends and is supported by 4 new simple square
posts and squared balustrade (natural-pressure treated). Posts rest on
masonry piers with lattice in between. Wide steps (with similar railing)
are centered and lead to sidewalk at grade. Foundation is stucco. House
has 1-story rear addition. One story addition on rear. East end is
obscured but is nondescript vinyl-clad end wall. |

History |
These buildings at 54 and 56 Leigh, like those at 106 and 108 Leigh, do
not appear on the 1918 map but are shown on the 1927 Sanborn Atlas. Aerials
are blurry but seem to appear on 1931 photograph. |
