Description |
This property contains a heavily modified two-story, three-bay house with
two rear additions. The house's key feature is its front vestibule which
appears to have somewhat in place by 1927. The narrow-footprint core is a
two stories high with an end-gabled, asphalt shingled roof. The walls
here and on the rear extensions are stucco, and painted dark yellow. The
foundation is concrete. The rear additions have shed roofs with the west
side 2 stories and the east side 1 story. The main (south) elevation
includes three windows at the second level however originally it may have
contained 4 windows. The windows are all 1x1 and replacements (all of the
house windows appear to be replacements). The vestibule or covered porch
consists of a centered unit with wide front gabled roof, exposed rafter
tails and stucco-clad walls. The doorway, facing south, has a wide curved
entrance that is now filled with a barred door and side windows. It opens
out to a set of 4 semi-circular masonry steps that lead to grade. Two
single windows flank the vestibule. The west or left elevation consist of
a single window on the 2nd level of the rear extension, and on the 1st
level a "greenhouse" type window on the extension and two windows of
differing size on the core. On the right or east end, there is a single
window near the southeast corner of the core and one on the rear addition
(the addition is just one story on the east side of the house). |
