Description |
This building appears to have been reconstructed at some point to its
present appearance. It is considered vernacular but contains some Greek
Revival elements. It consists of a nearly square, two story, vernacular
building with a low-pitched hipped roof and stucco-clad walls. The eaves
extend over the walls and a simple molded cornice is visible in this
otherwise nondescript duplex. The building faces south onto the street.
Fenestration is asymmetrical on this 3-bay wide building. The second
consists of three 6x6 sash units (replacement windows with simulated
divided lights) space evenly and flanked by faux shutters. The first
floor has openings: window near the SW corner is aligned with window
above, the entrance consists of two side-by-side doors off-center to the
west (left), and the remaining window is not aligned with the window near
the SW corner above. The doors are protected by a large gabled hood
supported by 2 decorative iron posts. The porch is centered under the
hood and consists of all-masonry construction with stucco sides and brick
stairs. An iron railing downs the center. The east side contains three
windows on the 1st and 2nd levels, symmetrically spaced except from a
small window near the NE corner. The same applies for the west façade.
There are no rear additions. |
