Description |
This well preserved American Foursquare has an atypical center window on
the second floor. The typical two over two wood window has two flanking
sash units with a similar daylight opening as a glass pane in a typical
window. The windows have wide casings with a projecting drip moulding
above. The center and left first floor windows are similar and aligned
with the typical units above. The front door is slightly further from the
corner than the window above it. The full with hip roofed front porch
with broad overhangs is supported by three heavy square posts with the
two opposite the front door being closer together and centered on that
opening. the porch railing is simple square pickets, and the concrete
steps have metal railings. The hipped roof has the characteristic large
overhangs and hipped dormer in the center. The dormer and second floor
walls are wood shingles over clapboards on the first floor. There is a
chimney in the center of the short north/south ridge. The east elevation
has a single first floor window, while the west has two second for over
two on the first which are not aligned. There is a flat roofed extension
across most of the rear facade. |
