Description |
This vernacular house consists of a small, frame, 2-story, 2-bay core
with a large, 2-story, shed-roofed rear addition. A shed-roofed porch is
attached to the rear of the building as well. The entire building is clad
in aluminum siding and the windows are all 1x1 sash replacements. The
core has an asphalt-shingled roof and aluminum-clad cornice. Fenestration
on the main or north façade consists of two small windows on the 2nd
level. On the 1st level, the main entrance is aligned with the western
window above, and there is a paired window set near the northeast corner.
A full- length front porch is located on painted brick piers 3-4 feet
above the sidewalk with lattice in between. The hipped-roofed structure
is enclosed with two sets of triple windows. Stairs to the porch face the
interior of the property and are masonry with metal railing; they enter
the porch from its west end. Fenestration on the west side, 2nd level
consists of a centered window under the gable end of the core and two
windows on the rear extension. The 1st level repeats this arrangement
with windows aligned. The east side has just one window nearly centered
on the 2nd level. The 1st level a single window aligned with the 2nd
level window and a second window centered on the rear extension. |
