Description |
Two story rectangular raised foundation gable roof vinyl sided residence
on a raised foundation. The ridge is parallel to the street. The long
three bay street facade has two full size six over one windows flanking a
smaller version in the center. The windows below are paired units of the
same type to either side of the front door, a multilight French unit. All
of the openings have
vinyl shutters. A three bay hip roof porch extends across most of the
front. The center bay at the top of a broad flight of steps is slightly
narrower. The west elevation has four windows in a symmetrical
arrangement, although the bottom right unit is smaller. The east gable
end is bisected by a square brick chimney against the side of the house.
There is a flat roof full width enclosed porch below the two second floor
windows. A small one story lean to extends halfway across the rear from
the SW corner. The rear facade is also three bay on the second floor with
two windows on the first floor. |

History |
This house appears to date to c. 1920. Historic maps and atlases show a
vacant lot in this location as late as the Sanborn atlas of 1918. The
Franklin Survey atlas of 1930 shows the house. The house is included in the
bounds of the AME Church property, which suggests that the house may have
been constructed as a parsonage. |
