Description |
This property contains one of the neighborhood's finest houses. It is a
large, 2.5 story, house with Italianate details. It is a frame residence
consisting of a cross-gabled, asphalt-shingled roof with thick cornice
encased in aluminum. A large banded stucco-clad chimney protrudes from
the crest at the east gable. A two story addition attached to rear.
Fenestration on south(main) façade includes a pared 1x1 window with faux
shutters centered under gable, and three 1x1 windows regularly spaced
across 2nd level. All windows appear to be replacements. The 1st level is
partially obscured by an enclosed porch. The porch is full-length with
hipped roof supported by 4 vinyl clad posts. Main entrance is near SW
corner with two windows to right aligned with 2nd floor windows (these
large 1x1 units may be original). The door is a replacement slab unit
with a diamond light (door type in production from 1938 to 1970). The
porch
window openings include divided light arched transoms, typical of older
enclosed porch window and door units. East end of house includes two
windows in all three floors (symmetrical with 1st and 2nd floor windows
aligned, and 2 windows (two each level) on rear addition. West end was
obscured but rear addition protrudes from west plain of core and has
windows on both 1st and 2nd floors. |
