DESCRIPTION

Setting

Description

Two story rectangular two story vinyl clad residence with the short dimension facing the street. The three bay street facade has two over two windows with louvered wood shutters above a full width flat roof two bay porch. The three turned wood columns are evenly spaced and the railings are plain with square balusters. The transomed front door (Cottage door with six inset lights over two vertical panels) is on the left side with two windows aligning with those above to the right. The main block has an overhanging cornice all around with a very shallow hipped roof that is not visible from the street. The east elevation has two windows above a door and window towards the rear, while the west has three openings at each level more evenly spaced.

History

The house was constructed c. 1893. Historic maps show a vacant lot in this location as late as the map of 1890. The house first appears on the Sanborn atlas of 1895 and appears on all subsequent maps and atlases.
