Description |
Large rectangular, 2-story, 5-bay core with asphalt shingled, hipped
roof, stucco walls, and cantilevered bay centered on 2nd floor of main
(east) façade. One story rear extension. Hipped roof has banded brick
chimney near north slope. Twin residence with #182 at left/south half,
#184 at right/north half. Key feature of this rare building type (in W-
J), besides the low hipped roof, is the 2nd floor octagonal bay. It is
centered and cantilevers over center window below. (Windows on house are
replacements, as are doors.) Bay has four sash units with two on the east
section. Two other windows on 2nd level are near the NE and SE corners
under the aluminum clad roof eaves. Entrance doors are aligned with the
latter. They open to wooden deck with stairs and heavy railings. Stairs
lead to cement walkways leading to main sidewalk. There are three sash
units between doors.
Window units vary on north end but core has 2 windows at each level
aligned. South wall obscured. |
